Other Activities to Support
As well as funds for our children's education, we raise money for other activities promoting their general welfare. These special funds are the: Food Fund Medical Fund Building Fund Dzikwa Shelter Fund Recreation Fund General Fund (for adminstrative expenses) You can support our work in a variety of ways. You could, for instance, buy a cow, which would give our children a protein-rich supplement to their daily meal for one month, or you could sponsor an outing to the cinema for 100 children. Take a look at the special funds below and see which one suits you best. Food Fund (Ref. 1038) The cost of a meal is €0.32. As we supply more than 120,000 meals a year, our annual food budget comes to about €36,000. In addition to the cost of the food, this sum includes salaries, the cost of storage and transport, and the purchase of tableware. It also includes the purchase of firewood, as the meals are cooked in pots over open fires. In 2009, we had 21 cows slaughtered, at a cost of about €600 each.
Your help can make a big difference! Donate meat for one day's meals: €60 - €75. Or donate meat for one month's meals: €720 -€900. Or donate cooking oil for one month: €30.

Buy fruit (bananas and oranges) for all our children - €80. Buy two months' cooking oil. Oil is a key ingredient of Zimbabwean cooking, and two month's supply costs €60.
