With the aid of funds raised by the Society, we have been able to take children with acute sicknesses to the doctor or hospital and to buy medication. Typical mild disorders are colds, gastric upsets, parasites, various skin diseases, bruises and occasionally, though rarely, malaria and tuberculosis.

We also financed acute dental care, eye tests and purchases of spectacles.

In 2009, Dzikwa children paid 212 visits to the doctor. Most were to a private clinic that gives Dzikwa a 50% reduction. For the third year running, the local municipal clinic was presented with a box of medical supplies collected by one of our supporters in Siuntio, Finland. A few children were taken to specialists' private surgeries, and one boy was hospitalised for burns.
